Getting Started
About Our RC Club
We are a small group of model aircraft enthusiasts of all ages who enjoy building and flying remote control aircraft. We are located just north of High River, Alberta, and fly on a scenic grass strip with an east-west runway of 100' x 700' as well as a north-south runway of 100' x 600'. We have a strong membership of friendly and helpful individuals of all ages. We always welcome new members, from experienced flyers to individuals that have never flown before. We have a talented group of instructors to help those first-time flyers learn the craft of building and flying proficiently. Safety is of the utmost importance at the club, followed by having a great attitude towards others.
What We Fly
Getting Started

Students:
Please contact our senior instructor to schedule lessons on how to fly. Instructors are volunteers who enjoy the process of teaching others how to fly RC aircraft. As with many things in life, you need to crawl before you run, so please contact us before you go out and buy that beautiful warbird with all the bells and whistles. We will get you started with a trainer-type aircraft to get your journey started and avoid costly mistakes with poor plane selections. Below are some good recommendations for training planes. Don’t forget a simulator for your computer — it can get you flying on your own much faster by reducing instructor time.
Before you take to the skies, it's important to understand the drone regulations in Canada to ensure safe and legal flying. We strongly encourage you to read the guidelines and familiarize yourself with the rules. You can find the latest drone regulations and safety information from Transport Canada here.

Pilots:
If you already have your wings or have flown at other clubs, please contact the senior instructor for a short field orientation. We have some specific flight restrictions and safety items that you need to be knowledgeable about before you fly. Additionally, please take the time to read and understand the rules thoroughly.
Our goal is to ensure that all pilots are well-prepared and aware of our procedures to maintain a safe and efficient flying environment. The orientation will cover important aspects such as airspace boundaries, communication protocols, and emergency procedures.
